(This is one of Great-grandma Julia's famous holiday breads!)
Mix well and let stand overnight:
1 C raisins
2.5 C boiling water
4 t baking soda
Next morning add:
1 C brown sugar
1/2 C Wesson oil
4 C flour
1/2 t salt
1 t vanilla
Mix well. Pour into oiled pans. Bake 1 hour at 350º.
